A portfolio of ideas for community capability, networked resilience,
ecological renewal, and systems-level amplification.
71ideas
8catalogue clusters
6reading paths
Designed as a shareable, polished catalogue with a strategic interpretive
spine and a structured register underneath.
How to read this catalogue
A coherent portfolio, not a uniform pipeline
The ideas are deliberately presented as a portfolio at mixed levels of
maturity and intended scale. Some are early fragments or provocations; some
are ready for discussion; a few are closer to market research. Scale markers
should be treated as current working assumptions, open to exploration.
Communities as the unit of change
Several concepts create shared assets, institutions, mutual support, or
local capability rather than just standalone products.
Network building as amplification
Some ideas become more useful as more people, places, suppliers,
creators, or projects participate.
Systems thinking as multiplier
Many interventions look small, but connect to wider loops: waste, land
use, information flows, behaviour, culture, and resilience.
Source and interpretation are separate
Original source fields are labelled. Strategic roles and clusters are an
added reading layer, intended to make the portfolio easier to navigate.

Catalogue structure
Eight primary clusters
Each detailed idea appears once in the catalogue. The deeper reading paths
point into these records rather than repeating them.
Many ideas look for leverage points: waste becomes input, land becomes
habitat, information flows improve, or behaviour shifts through small
interventions.
Scale can mean many coherent local instances rather than one centralised
organisation. Some ideas are strongest as copyable patterns, federated
services, or locally-owned instances.
Tools, places, institutions, funding models, and shared knowledge systems that help communities organise, deliberate, create value, and solve problems together.
No ideas in this cluster match the current search or filters.

The profit motive has made the pharma research field perverse. Life saving medicine that would only affect a few thousand people is dropped because it can't be profitable, long-term treatments are prioritised over cures because cures don't lead to a continuous income stream

Narrow strips of land, usually at least 5m if you don't want to trim can be narrower with maintenance, very densely planted with trees and bushes. Need watering for first few years then self-sufficient, mature forest ecosystem processes start within a few years rather than many decades. Provide pollution barrier, noise barrier, air and water cleaning, mental health benefits, lots of habitat, can fit on small pieces of ground, can provide staging and corridors between larger habitats.

Sand, clay, flour, used coffee grounds. Pour in dry, add water, fungus eats biomass, binds everything else. As is for quick filler (e.g. temp pothole fix), bake for longer-lasting material. When it finally breaks down it's sandy soil
